Celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee

Everyone is invited to a FREE Family day of creative arts and crafts to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee

Tuesday 31st May 2022 at New Directions College, 330 Northumberland Avenue, Whitley, RG2 8DH

10am to 2.30pm

To celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee, New Directions College will be running a fun packed day of FREE Art workshops for all the family.

Community drawing – “A right Royal feast”

What food do you imagine will be served at the Queen’s table for her Platinum Jubilee celebration? Draw all the delicious delights alongside the extravagant tableware, to create a right royal feast. This will be a drop-in activity drawing, alongside others from your local community. Weather permitting, this activity will take place outside.

Regal self -Portraits

Picture yourself in your most regal pose as you create your own self-portrait using charcoal and pastels.

Clay Corgis

Come along and make yourself a royal pet out of clay to take home and decorate.

Majestic Still Life

Spend some time exploring different drawing techniques inspired by our Jubilee still life display.

Commemorative Jubilee Medals & Brooches

Design and make your own Brooch or Medal to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee.

Jubilee desserts

Learn to make some sweet treats to impress friends and family at your Jubilee parties.

The event is based on-site at New Directions College, and you will need to book either a morning or afternoon slot. Once you arrive at the event, you will be able to take part in several drop- in Art activities. Please note that, to keep everyone safe, numbers will be carefully monitored and, in some instances, you may need to wait for a space to become available before you can join the activity.
